Publisher Description

England-born Emmaline Bradford pledged her life to Geoffrey Garrett and then bid him farewell when he sailed to America. Although Geoffrey anticipated only a short separation, several years passed before he was able to send for Emmaline. By then the fiery flame of her youthful love had all but died. "I found this book to be a very good read! I loved the author's style of writing as well as the storyline/plot. It is an intriguing story of a couple who fell in love when young teenagers but then are separated for five years while he is building a life for them in America. The characters are real - and experience real emotions. It was very good portrayal of the truth that we will experience good things and bad things in our lives, but through them all a faith and trust in God will sustain us - as He (God) will take care of us."

    " I thought it was okay. I didn't necessarily like the initial plot of the book, but the secondary characters sort of grew on me. I loved the support of good friends that the heroine had; she needed them. I always like to read stories where a person's faith is rekindled. All in all, it was okay. "
