" It was a quick and easy read - a romantic who dunnit book. Good for a holiday kinda reading or to read on a long flight. U wanna read right till the end to know who the killer is - a good suspense thriller !! "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Eric Pape | 2/14/2014

" A cross between a good crime novel and Mills&Boon. Not for me "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Diana | 2/8/2014

" Truly terrible. Sickly, unbelievable, poorly plotted - how did she manage to get it published? Enough to put me off ever reading another of her books. The only reason why I kept reading it was that it helped me to sleep! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Nancy Ellis | 2/8/2014

" Another early and good Tess Gerritsen selection! Miranda tries to end her affair with her married boss, but he tries to get her back. She comes home to find him dead in her bed. Naturally everyone assumes she did it, but the hero (who happens to be the half-brother of the victim) is soon convinced of her innocence and together they work to solve the mystery. Entertaining and light reading. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Anita | 2/5/2014

" Not great. Rather stick to her series she writes. Too much like a mills and boon! "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Lisa | 1/31/2014

" Enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. Pretty quick, fluff read. "

" Author Tess Gerritsen as always, give us a great thriller and deep characters,it's an easy, fluid reading, very entertaining book. "

" waste of time, have liked other books of hers, but this was rubbish! Cringeworthy cheese. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Noelle Walsh | 1/19/2014

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Erin | 1/17/2014

" I got a little tired of the jaded angst angle, but still a good enough mystery. Not even in the same league as her more recent novels. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Jayne | 1/12/2014

" Fairly decent and easy read. I was expecting it to be a darker read than it was, there is defo a mills & boon element to this book that keeps the mood of the book pretty light. I would probably read other books by this author. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Carol | 1/11/2014

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Eydie | 12/29/2013

" One of Ms Gerritsen's earlier books, but still a good read. A fast weekend read and a bit predictable, but very enjoyable. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Lesley Fletcher | 12/26/2013

" Very light read. Good for the beach and that is about all. It was more of a romance than a gritty who done it. I was disappointed because the cover and story-line set me up for something that I could get my teeth into. "

" I thought this was pretty good for an earlier Tess Gerritsen book. I liked it much better than In Their Footsteps which I read a year before this :-) "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Melody | 11/12/2013

" It was good. I thought I had it figured out and then it twisted on me! Still prefer the cop and coroner mix to this style. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Shona Horn | 9/5/2013

" I was a bit disappointed in this book, my first Tess Gerritsen. She mixed romance & crime & neither had me gripped & on the edge of my seat. It was a nice little read but just not the gripping crime thriller I assumed it was going to be. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Fiona | 5/21/2013

" One of her weaker books, knew whodunnit from the start although there were a few clever twists in it that did make me stop to think was I right! "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Helen | 5/20/2013

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Deedeebee | 8/30/2012

" Another good one by Tess Gerritsen. I really enjoy her writing, I think that this is a reprint of one of her earlier works. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Meda | 5/24/2012

" Naive, tame style. Inconvincible relationships. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Linda | 3/16/2012

" This book is set in coastal Maine. I read it while vacationing on the coast of Maine. Fun! It is a light weight read, with lots of twists and turns leading to the solving of the murder. Not at all gorey, as was the last Gerritsen book I read, The Surgeon. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Jennifer | 3/2/2012

" A good story, although not as good as her later works. I thought the romance part was contrived and didn't add a whole lot to the plot, and like some of her other earlier novels, this one wrapped up super quick and the resolution was kind of a let down. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Shannon | 10/6/2011

" I COULDN'T PUT THIS ONE DOWN. STARTED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AND GOT DONE AROUND 11PM LAST NIGHT. IT WAS GREAT TO HAVE A BOOK FROM TESS THATS NOT ABOUT RIZZOLI & ISLE! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Carol Hurtig | 8/25/2011

" Good murder mystery and love story in one. Lots of twists and turns, don't know to the very end who did it! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Irem | 8/21/2011

" It was fluent just like other work of hers. It reminded me of her another book "Under the Knife" in some cases. But I think the electricity came up between (view spoiler)[Miranda and Chase (hide spoiler)] was too sudden than Chesne and Ransom's. Anyways it was good. I would say "Readable". "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Laurie Reeder | 8/19/2011

    " Not what I thought...a romance disguised as a mystery...and I don't love romance books. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Cindy | 12/20/2010

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Elizabeth | 12/6/2010

" Come on???!!!! The Queen of mystery writing this bit of soft porn??? I was SO disappointed. This book should be a Harlequin Romance and Ms. Gerritsen should have used a pseudonym! In the future I will make sure her book includes Maura Isles and Jane Rizzoli before I buy it! What a letdown!! "
