A terrorist with a most personal grudge, an FBI analyst challenged to be three steps ahead of the intel, a Coast Guard captain assigned to keep watch on that most American of symbols from the water, an astronaut who takes her job very seriously - the paths of all of these people converge on one clear morning in Florida. NASA is preparing to launch the space shuttle, this time with a high-paying visitor on board as a guest, and the FBI and the Coast Guard are doing everything they can to make sure the launch goes off without a hitch. But one Pakistani man with a bottomless personal grudge is determined to strike back at the most visible target he can find.

Fresh off of her most successful Kate Shugak novel to date, Edgar Award-winner and New York Times best-selling thriller writer Stabenow delivers a nail-biting, all-too-real novel of international suspense. Download and start listening now!

" Very Good; stand-alone where a group of terrorists trys to hijack a Coast Guard ship to shoot a launching space shuttle out of the sky; a bit jumbled with the varied story lines "

" Good Read, about space shuttle, coast guard, terrorism.. "

" This book is well-written for a political thriller, but I didn't like it nearly as much as the Kate Shugak books. It didn't have the Alaskan setting and the strong lead female character I love in those books. It was ok, for a thriller. "

" I prefer this author's Kate Shugak series, but her stand alones are pretty good. I'm generally not crazy about terrorism plots, but this book pulled me along for the ride. "
