Tip Harris, better known as Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum selling hip-hop artist and actor T.I., is at the top of his game. Now he displays yet another side of his remarkable talents with Power & Beauty, a love story of life on the streets. Set in the dangerous shadows of Atlanta, Georgia, Power & Beauty is a dark, gritty story of sex, violence, hustling, and redemption centered around Paul “Power” Clay and Tanya “Beauty” Long—two kids facing long odds and lethal temptations, yet whose miraculous, unbreakable bond ultimately becomes their salvation. A love story, a crime story, a survival story, Power & Beauty bristles with an electrifying authenticity born of Tip “T.I.” Harris’s hard life on the streets. This is exhilarating, brutally honest, page-turning urban African-American fiction at its very best.

" Very good book that had perfect editing! "

" I purchased this book because T.I. supposedly wrote it. The book was okay. The ending sucked and was so abrupt. The female lead was painted as some fairy tale beauty queen with brains and talent she just didn't seem real but that's my opinion. "

" I went into this with no real expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. It was an easy read and kept my attention throughout. If you're looking for something to take your mind off the day-to day and help you unwind, this book is a good choice. "

" I can't wait for Part 2. I do not read Street Lit but this book was great. It was at my local library so I picked it up and very happy I did. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Pamela Sarratt | 12/2/2013

" Brace yourself for a seemingly ridiculous statement: I kind of loved this book. The beginning is a little choppy, and there are some gimmicky plot devices, but the pace is rollicking, the characters are surprisingly engaging, and the cliffhanger ending has me determined to read the next one. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Caitlyn Friend | 10/20/2013

" It was alright. Wasn't too thrilled with the ending, but wasn't a horrible read. I didn't realize it was a series when i started reading it, will read the sequel just to feel like i finished the book. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Latonya | 8/7/2013

" This book started out well. I gave it 3 stars because of its terrible ending or more so the lack of an ending. I got the impression that TI just stopped writing. He did not provide any closure to the book. I prefer his acting and music over his writing. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Moneen Daley Harte | 3/10/2013

" T.I. brings the street stories of Power and Beauty to life...interesting lives, lifestyle and insight. Also clever branding as he mentions his own clothing line in the book (he's no fool)and **spoiler alert** this one is a "to be continued". I'm hooked though - going to get the sequel! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Shelverly B. | 12/22/2012

" Bears a striking resemblance to Midnight, won't win any awards, but it's literature and I was pleasantly surprised by it's depth. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Amber Gordon | 10/25/2012

" A good storyline.... but book was slow at sometimes, its like I was waiting for something to happen but it never did. It was missing the "IT" factor that makes you not want to put a book down. Maybe it will come in book 2.... but I don't know. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Caprice Daniels | 10/20/2012

" I thought this book was really good. It was very intriguing. A page turner. "

" Great story, had me at chapter one, can't wait for the next book to see what happens with Power and Beauty "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Kris Marasca | 7/14/2012

" Not bad for a first effort. I think I would have liked it more if every other chapter focused on either Power or Beauty instead of the first 2/3's being Power & then Beauty's story being not even the last third since Power was also somewhat involved in it. I do look forward to reading the sequel. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 TriVonda Mines | 6/28/2012

    " Excellent read... I love TI "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Jen Koontz | 12/1/2011

" Better than most of the urban erotica I've read (although this falls more under fiction than erotica). It started off a little sketchy, but improved and drew me in with all of the insights into the various city underworlds of both Power and Beauty. Compelling and can't wait to read the next one! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Angela | 11/7/2011

" Nice 1st try for T.I. and they set it up for a sequel. I could have done without the language in this book because it reads much easier if I'm not cringing at every F word or worst. However, this was street fiction so it had to be realistic. "
