In Pigs Have Wings, affably potty Lord Emsworth is embroiled in a fierce pig-rearing battle with his obese neighbour, Sir Gregory Parsloe-Parsloe. Tossed in for good measure: romantic entanglements, some dubious detective work and a fearful dieting product called 'Slimmo'.
Blandings is also never complete without the resourcefulness of canny Gally Threepwood, the staunchness of 'man mountain' butler Beach and the stentorian tones of Lady Constance ringing around its batty corridors (there's even an imposter or two). Naturally a pig-napping is afoot, but who will have the last oink?

"Lord Emsworth, Galahad, assorted likable young characters pining gently for each other, sparkling prose, and the Empress of Blandings -- the ingredients for another delightful Wodehouse concoction... " — Matt (4 out of 5 stars)

" I love Wodehouse, and for whatever reason, this just didn't take off with me like nearly every other one of his books has. A winner for diehards, not my first recommendation for a Wodehouse virgin. "
" I didn't find it to be as funny as others said it was. "
" Pigs, sisters, brothers, guests, butlers, and secretaries. Lord Emworth will never have any peace! Another too soon over magic carpet ride through P.G. Wodehouses world. "
" Excellent humorous dialogue throughout "
" Probably my most favourite Wodehouse. "
" This is one of the funniest books I've ever read! I found the the folly of carting a prize pig around in a luxery car especially amusing. "
" PG Wodehouse just gets funnier and funnier to me! This was too much fun. I must remember to be on the lookout for a butler - they seem handy to have around in any situation. "
" A humorous account of one eccentric family's efforts to win the Shropshire fattest pig contest. "
" All Wodehouse is of course good, but this one is a cut above. "
" I love Lord Emsworth, though we see more of his brother, the Hon. Galahad Threepwood, in this excellent novel than we do of the Earl. Wodehouse farce at its best. "
