Bob Dillon is a down-on-his-luck exterminator from Queens who just wants to make a killing with his radical new environmentally friendly pest elimination technique, involving his hybrid assassin bugs (a very real group of insects). But when Bob decides to advertise, his flyer falls into the hands of a European murder-for-hire broker who mistakes Bob for a professional assassin. Before he knows it, Bob's competition targets him for extermination, sending him running for his life from a motley collection of the world's deadliest and most outrageously eccentric contract killers.

"What is a five-star book? Pest Control ain't fine literature. Pest Control is exactly what I needed after finishing the immensely DARK The Road. My first thought, in trying to remove the pall left on me by The Road, turned to Christopher Moore as my possible salvation, but I've read all of his (wish he would write faster!) So I Googled "I like Christopher Moore so I should read" and came up with Bill Fitzhugh as a suggestion. Highly entertaining. Looking forward to reading more of his work." — Stanley (5 out of 5 stars)

" entertaining - it would be a fun movie. "
" a friend recommended it. it was cute, nothing special. "
" I would recommend all of this guy's writings. Off-beat, cause-related, witty, dark. Good eatin'! "
" I thought this book was amusing. It could easily be made into a super funny movie. I skimmed over many pages that had over-the-top bug descriptions.. but the rest was great. Very fast read. I read in a few hours at work. "
" Outstanding book. Warped, twisted and very funny. "
" I've never laughed so hard reading a book. "
" hysterical! Who should have the movie rights? Rita Wilson? "
" Tim Dorsey he's not when it comes to making you laugh but he does enough to make you keep reading. You'll be neither disappointed nor blown away. "
" Funny, quick and with a happy ending. And, lots of information about bugs. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had had illustrations. "
" This is a great book about the caricature of a blue collar family man trying to earn a living without selling out his beliefs. I enjoy how the author uses NYC of old as a tool, an obstacle and as a supporting character as an integral part of the story. "
" Funny, but a bit overdone with the premise. Reads like a first attempt at writing a book. "
" A silly light read....a little heavy on the scientific bug info but i enjoyed it. "
" This book was hilarious. I'm surprised if hasn't gotten more attention or been made into a movie. I stumped upon it and loved it. Any book that can make me laugh out loud is great in my book. "
" Brilliant premise, great writing, fascinating character and page-turning story. Fitzhugh should be a household name. I look forward to the long-awaited sequel, "The Exterminators." "
" Not exactly well written, but fun nevertheless. "
" Interesting and different. Reminded me of Carl Hiaasen. I was entertained, though it was a little heavy on the insect details. I will read the next one to see what happens next. "
" I thought this book was hilarious. If you are looking for a humorous romp with a few twists then check this one out. "
" Very funny. A better book than most of the works of Christopher Moore. Give it a try! "
" I picked this book up on a whim and loved it. So well written. You can easily follow it like a movie and picture it all happening as it goes. THis book made me a quick fan of Fitzhugh. "
" Such a bizarre and utterly funny book. Good light read. "
" OMG, reading this book was a stitch. Great original premise and I think I might actually have learned something about Assassin Bugs! Funny all the way through as Bob blunders his way out of a very unusual situation! "
" Five stars because it's absolutely hilarious. If you're reading it in public and strangers hear you bust out laughing, let them know they should also read Pest Control. "
" Funny book--very similar to Tim Dorsey or Christopher Moore, but with a style all his own. "
" Very funny book. This book seriously needs to be made into a movie. "
" Very fun, quick read. A bug exterminator is mistaken for a professional assassin. Sort of "Being There" meets "Grosse Point Blank." "
" Funny little book not the type I normally read but it was entertaining. "
" Liked it so well, I'm reading it again. It's just FUN. Not deep, not thought provoking....just fun. "
" Clearly in the realm of inspired by Christopher Moore, but this was nonetheless a very enjoyable book to read. "
" in general a light and entertaining reading but not as funny as I expected in the end. "
" I enjoyed it. Light and fluffy. I thought it ended very well if not a little predictable. The middle dragged a little but not so much I stopped reading. I will give him a 2nd read. "
" A very funny story about someone looking for a hitman. Our protagonist puts an ad in the paper for a pest control man. A 'little" mix-up occurs... "
