Growing up in a world of wealth and pastel-tinted entitlement, 15-year-old Carly has always relied on the constancy - and authenticity - of her sister, Anna. But when 14-year-old Anna turns plastic-perfect-pretty over the course of a single summer, everything starts to change. And there are boys involved, complicating things as boys always do.

With warmth, insight, and an unparalleled gift for finding humor even in stormy situations, beloved author Lauren Myracle dives into the tumultuous waters of sisterhood and shows that even very different sisters can learn to help each other stay afloat. Download and start listening now!

Listener Opinions

" When it comes to reading for teens, I usually choose what I think will be the happier, more upbeat realistic teen fiction. Judging from the cover and title of this book, you can guess that I was not disappointed. This book did not veer off into any dark areas except when it lightly touches on the racism apparent in this wealthy area near Atlanta, GA. Other than that it's a typical teen stuff: two sisters, one who has a body that is suddenly garnering unwanted attention from boys and the other sister who wants to march to a different drummer. Throw in a guy friend for the older sister who wants to be more than a friend and a PE class challenge, and you get the idea. It's a good story with a happy ending which is sure to be as popular as Myracle's other books. This is only the second title by this author that I've read. The other was the very odd and creepy, "Bliss." "

" Smart, funny, and totally charming, this is one of the best sisters stories I've ever read. Lauren has such a great ear for teen dialogue, and a refreshing and honest approach to storytelling. And it's a stand alone title (for now at least...never know what that Lauren's up to). "

" An interesting, fun read. I like how Carly is a multifaceted character with flaws, trying so hard to be different in a sometimes stifling community. I find the message that while someone may try to be different, sometimes trying to be different makes you the same. "

" I listened to this book on audio while on a long road-trip. It was an entertaining. Not a whole lot happens, but at the same time there are a few serious issues examined such as identity and what it means to be a good sister. Recommended for teens looking for something a little lighthearted and fun. "
