" My first Oz book. It's a sweet, magical story. Not fast-paced or anything scary, but a wonderfully imaginative adventure in Oz. "

" I would not recommend that young children read this book unless a parent explains certain parts in it. It gave me nightmares when I was eleven. "

" Possibly one of the best of the Oz books - although it is difficult to pick just one. "

" I recently read this book to my second graders and realized I must have read it as a child also, because it was familiar to me. In this, the third book in the series, Dorothy travels to the land of Ev. She once again meets up with an engaging cast of characters including Billina,(a sassy, talking chicken) a princess with 40 heads(kept in cabinets and traded depending on her mood) and a nome king who challenges Dorothy and friends to a deceitful, ,albeit entertaining, guessing game. Not to mention the Princess Ozma and a metal machine man named Tik Tok. A fun read aloud! "
