A picture-perfect Tennessee town has just become a monster’s hunting ground. Two bodies are found tortured to death. A third person goes missing. What little evidence is left behind defies all explanation. Is the terror just beginning? Or have the good citizens of Gladstone harbored a dark secret for a long time?

Sheriff Miranda Knight is determined to make her small town safe once more. And she does what she swore she would never do: involve FBI profiler Noah Bishop. He’s the one man who knows about her unique abilities, and that knowledge almost destroyed her and her sister years ago.

Now, as Bishop arrives with his team of agents, Miranda must learn to trust him and use her abilities once more. For they’re about to go on the hunt for a killer whose madness has no bounds, a killer who knows exactly how to destroy Miranda: by preying on her sister.

" This is book 3 in the series Bishop Special Crimes Unit series. In this book we finally get to learn more about Bishop and his past! Miranda has abilities of her own, abilities that tell her she needs Bishops help. Last time she trusted Bishop something awful happened...something that changed her life and she ran. Now she has no choice but to call Bishop and ask for his help in solving murders that are happening in her town. This book was amazing..the best of the series so far! I loved finding out more about Bishop and seeing Miranda and Bishop interact. I loved seeing them work together to solve the case..and what a case it was! Keeps you guessing until the end! This is one book you do not want to miss! "

" Though part of a series this book was interesting to read. All I could think of was this story was the TV show Criminal Minds with a psychic twist way out there sort of TV shows The Mentalist, Medium and Ghost Whisperer all rolled up into one. Some of the story was a little gory for my taste but all in all I liked this book. "

" 3rd of 3. This story plays out like a really good game of chess (you can't missed the less than subtle references). Delves deeper into the emotional side of the characters. Readers FINALLY get Noah's story. Not as gripping in suspense, but touches the heart. "

" I don't know why but you will sometimes find Kay Hoopers books in romance instead of crime. I can't figure it out because they are not bodice ripper type of novels. They are a great read with a little bit of 'six sense' involved. "
