"I love the idea of making a list of 1000 things for which to be grateful and define them as my grace, things for which to be thankful. It is an indirect thought process as to how Ann Voskamp gets to the point of finding her grace, but it makes sense. In the end, I like being able to look at a list and thinking of how I can be thankful, have grace by being thankful for everything I have, and finding eucharisteo, grace, thanks. And everytime I put on my glasses I hope to remember that the world is seen the way I choose to see it and I can choose to see things for which I am thankful, find grace, eucharisteo."

" Loved it! Beautifully, lyrically written. Searching, Introspective but necessarily so, I'm still thinking about it. Loaded the phone app too. "

" The second half was much better than the first half. The writing in the first half was so bad, I wanted to require the author to diagram her sentences! All in all, it is a reminder to Christians to give thanks in all things, even in tragedy. I admit, I try to be thankful each day for the blessings in my life, but I am really struggling with being thankful for anything related to the deaths of Charlotte and Stella. I have seen God in the people who have cared for Travis and Amanda, but I can't imagine them finding much to be thankful for in the loss of their two beautiful daughters. Maybe I read it with the wrong glasses on, but even a better attitude on my part would not have improved the writing. "

" This book was beautifully written. I read it during a very difficult time emotionally, and it reconnected me to my faith in God. Although I am not a practicing Christian, and the book uses Christianity as a basis, I was very interested and never felt excluded because I do not identify with the same religion the author does. The book's message is clear and universal, gratitude and love. The book is comforting and pushes you to stretch your heart to connect to those who are your enemies, who suffer and who need positive energy. "

" I tried to like this one, I really did. But I simply couldn't get into it! The writing style was a bother to me. And I didn't really enjoy the book either. I would instinctively give it two stars, but there wasn't objectionable material or anything...it just wasn't my kind of book. Many people love it. It's just me and my personality here. :) "

" A powerful and transforming read. I have read it 3 times and used as a group study. The first time I read it through to get the big picture of the author. Then I read it over much more slowly. I read it a third time for a group study of the book. Each time I liked it better. "

" This book resonates across ages, personalities, politics, and any number of labels. While some of Ann's metaphors are laborious, many more of them, the preponderance, are quite beautiful. She sees it. She gets it, and I for one hunger to learn it. "
