"A must-read for fans of the Dark Materials trilogy! Once Upon a Time in the North provides a rich backstory for Iorek Byrnison and Lee Scoresby, and does a great job of explaining just a bit more about armored bears. This is a lovely little book, which only makes me want more. More Lyra! Please! "

" This was a short story involving the meeting of two main characters from "The Golden Compass". It thankfully lacked the aethist tendencies of the trilogy that it preludes and was simply an exciting adventure story. "
