Publisher Description

Remember the fairy stories you were told as a child? Tales of tiny, magical, winged beings and elves, wicked witches and goblins? And demons....

What if one day you found out they were true? What if, when you became an adult, you discovered they were all based on fact? What if you met the fantasy, and it was all so very real?

That's what happened to Thom Kindred. The wonders were revealed to him. But so were the horrors, for not far behind the Good, there always lurks the Bad. And the Bad had designs on Thom. The Bad would show him real evil. He would see the hellhagges and the demons. He would be touched by perverted passion. And corruption. And he would encounter his own worst nightmare. The Bad would seek to destroy him. And only the magic of the little beings would be able to help him.

" I read quite a few James Herbert books years ago and I recall that I enjoyed them but this one just didn't interest me much. I read it to the end but could easily have put it aside half way through. Maybe erotic faeries are not my thing. Maybe there weren't enough (any!) erotic elves/goblins/imps... I don't know. Anyway, my Cornish piskey blood was not stirred. "

" I am usually not a fan of stories heavy in description with minimal dialog, and this book did not change my mind. I don't want to use a blanket statement like, 'this was a bad book,' but I think it suffers from mislabeling. Unfortunately, this book was labeled as fantasy/horror and on par with Stephen King. There were suspenseful parts to this story, but I did not find anything that was near horror. For an erotic fantasy thriller, it wasn't that bad. The erotic scenes had the right amount of creepiness to keep the story from reading like a raunchy romance. The twists were well done. Usually I have no trouble knowing what's coming next; refreshingly, James Herbert provided a few twists I was unable to foresee! This could be a good read for fans of erotic dark fantasy erotic romps. "

" I was a little unsure of this book and to this day still am. It was a good read but not at all what I expected it to be. A little to erotic for my taste, but with James Herbert novels, anything is possible "

" I wanted to give up on it halfway through, but then I thought 'I'm halfway through, might as well finish it', so I did. Wish I hadn't. It's awful and the extremely details sex scenes in almost every second chapter really got on my nerves. "
