"So it took a while for me to get "into" this book. It begins with the kidnapping of a deaf boy and the killing of his speech therapist. It continues with more murders and coverups and develops into the killer finding refuge in a home for abused mothers and their children. Posing as the little boy's mother, she is suspected of having more of a story than just an abused woman. The kidnapped boy is the godson of a private eye who is determined to find the boy and reunite him with his parents. In his search he meets Dana Dupinsky, the manager of the abused mother's home. Together they discover love for each other and they work together to establish how their paths have crossed in more ways than one and people are dying all around them with their own lives at risk." — Colette (4 out of 5 stars)
