About Gabriel García Márquez
Gabriel García Márquez (1927–2014) was an author, journalist, and novelist who is considered one of the most influential writers of the twenty-first century, particularly in the Spanish language. He was awarded the 1972 Neustadt International Prize for Literature and the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature.
About the Narrators
Armando Durán has appeared in films, television, and regional theaters throughout the West Coast. For the last decade he has been a member of the resident acting company at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. In 2009 he was named by AudioFile as Best Voice in Biography and History for his narration of Che Guevara. A native Californian, he divides his time between Los Angeles and Ashland, Oregon.
Roxanne Hernandez is an audio narrator and a top narrator choice for young adult, adult drama, and Latin American/Chicano literature. She was a finalist for the prestigious Audie Award for best narration in 2011.
Marcelo Tubert, an
incredibly versatile actor, is known for his ability to change character and
dialect, in both comedy and drama, with ease. His four decades career includes
work in all mediums. Born in Argentina, Marcelo moved with his family to Southern
California at the age of seven. A devoted family man, Marcelo and his wife Lori,
a writer/director/producer, have two daughters, Emily and Sarah. Marcelo’s
passions include fly fishing and cooking, which he shares with his daughters.
Thom Rivera is a multiple Earphones Award–winning narrator. He is also a classically trained television, film, theater, and voice actor. He has toured nationally and performed at regional theatres and Shakespeare Festivals throughout the US. On television, he can be seen in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, New Girl, The Mindy Project, and the CBS series Zoo.
