Sarah Weinman, a freelance writer based in New York, writes Dark Passages, a monthly online crime fiction column for the Los Angeles Times Her short fiction has been published in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, and several anthologies.

Tom Epperson received his M.A. in English from the University of Arkansas at Fayetville and has co-written the scripts for One False Move, A Family Thing, The Gift,and A Gun, a Car, a Blonde. His novel The Kind One, is a 2009 Edgar Award nominee.

Denise Hamilton, a former Fulbright Scholar and Los Angeles Times staff writer, is an award-winning mystery author and editor. She writes the Eve Diamond series, which includes the Edgar Award-nominated Last Lullaby. Her latest novel is The Last Embrace.

Nina Revoyr, an Edgar award-nominated author, was born in Tokyo and grew up in Japan, Wisconsin and Los Angeles. She is the author of three award-winning novels. Her most recent, The Age of Dreaming, is a finalist for the 2008 Mystery/Thriller Los Angeles Times Book Prize.

Tom Epperson is the cowriter, with Billy Bob Thornton, of A Family Thing (starring Robert Duvall and James Earl Jones, nominated for the Humanitas Prize), One False Move (named as one of the year’s best films by a number of top critics), and The Gift (directed by Sam Raimi and starring Cate Blanchett, Keanu Reeves, and Hilary Swank). Epperson’s first book, The Kind One, was nominated for an Edgar and a Barry Award in 2009. He lives in Los Angeles.
