Publisher Description

This book tells the story of a hurting family, an amazing little girl and a mysteriously faithful God.

Emily wasn't born perfect - so one might think.

She was born with Down Syndrome and many would jump to the conclusion that she would have very little hope for a life of any significance. Two years later came the diagnosis of leukemia. What little hope remaining turned to no hope whatsoever - or so one might think.

The life of this little girl, with all its perceived imperfections, had great meaning. Her loving nature and courage touched the hearts of everyone she met. She also taught them how to value their own lives - even with their many imperfections.

"It must have taken a lot of effort and a lot of healing to write this story. I'm not a parent and I don't know what it's like to have a sick child, but with the recent illness of my mother, I understand how easy it is to question God in the face of such situations. To come out of it with one faith intact is commendable. I'm happy that the author found the courage to write this little book of inspiration. I encourage every one to read it, not just those who are experiencing the illness of a loved one. For sure, those who are will find great comfort in it."

" As you all know, I typically don't write a review of the books I read, I figure the "stars" speak for themselves. Please read this book. I picked it up at a time when I was feeling oh so sorry for myself, and boy did it put me in my place! It is such a touching, but heart wrenching story and I am so thankful that I read it. It makes me remember to be thankful for all of my many blessings every day. "

" My Emily is a story about this girl born with down syndrome and gets cancer. It tells the story of the impact her short life has on her family. It really reminds me of my residents at work. Great story. "

" This book was touching and emotional, but it lacked something. This book almost seems like an outline to a novel. It was informative but more details would have made it feel more complete. "
