Publisher Description

With her unmistakable voice and honest lyrics, Amy Grant has captured a unique place in American music. As the best-selling Christian music artist of all time, a cross-over pop sensation, and the wife of country music star Vince Gill, Amy has lived much of her life in the spotlight, subject to adulation, speculation, and scrutiny.

Now for the first time she bares her heart and soul to reveal thoughts on everything from motherhood and marriage to fame and forgiveness. Whether describing personal moments alone on a moonlit hillside or very public ones performing with the likes of Tony Bennett and James Taylor, Amy presents a captivating collection of beautiful reflections on life, love, and faith.

Rendered with the lyrical insight we see in her music, Amy reflects on the pieces of her life through the years, forming a vivid mosaic of memories rich in color, varied in texture, and united in their heartfelt design.

"I love Amy Grant's music and wanted to read about her - this is a great, personal part of her - she does not go deeply into her divorce, but talks about how it affected her, her faith, and the children. Her re-marriage to Vince Gill and their happiness are nice to read about. I was interested in the lyrics to her songs and what prompted her writing - not necessarily what I thought they were about. I liked that she is REAL -her faith, her failings and her reminders of God's forgiveness are a touching read. This book is an easy read."

" This book was written in a very unique fashion....the title really says it all. It is "pieces," or snapshots, of the singer's life...not in chronological order, but arranged more by theme. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure if I would have liked it if I weren't a fan of her music already. "

" A pleasant if sparse memoir of the gospel singer Amy Grant. I enjoyed what was here, but wished for more. I liked her description of how she greets each day. "

" I have loved Amy Grant's music since I was a kid and heard her song "Angels" for the first time. She has such a raw, honest talent that you don't find much in pop music. The same goes for her writing. I felt like I was reading letters from an old friend. Her life has not been perfect, yet she has found so much success and she is the first one to tell you that it hasn't changed her. Well-worth reading for any fan. "

" I've always been an Amy Grant fan so I enjoyed this quick read. It's simply stories and memories she has of her very interesting life. Her music had a profound impact on me as a child/teenager and I enjoyed reading some of the stories behind the songs. "

" Lyrics of Amy's songs are brought to life in this book. Ms. Grant tells the stories behind the lyrics. She does drop a name or two or three, which generally annoys me unless it is for a purpose but I didn't find the purpose of it. Good message. "

" Absolutely loved it!! But I am and have been a huge Amy fan for most of my life. She bares her soul in this book, it's so refreshing to read her honesty and openess about her life, but this has always been reflected in her music anyway, so is just a continuation. "
