Publisher Description

People in Adenville are breathing a sigh of relief. It seems that Tom D. Fitzgerald, the Great Brain, has truly reformed. For months, not one kid has been swindled and not one stunt has been pulled. But when he gets a new bike for Christmas, the Great Brain heads full speed into his old ways. And this time his ideas are bigger than ever.

He puts all of Adenville in fear of a prehistoric beast from Skeleton Cave, solves a mysterious bank robbery, and captures the ghost of Silverload Mine. Don't look now - the Great Brain is at it again!

"Just as excellent as the first book. The Great Brain's feats are not as creative in this installment (the climactic "Ghost of Siverlode" chapter shares the same ending as every Scooby Doo episode), and the period color is not as detailed, but the material is less dark and more pleasantly readable for an 8 year old boy. My son is hankering to read the next book!"

" my big sister told me to read these to my boys.( I have four) it is a must for every mother with boys to read with them. we can't wait to start the 3rd book. " This is a series that I read as a kid and loved them. I am reading them with my kids now. They are fun and based in a Mormon town. If you're looking for literary quality, you should check elsewhere; they are well-written, just not the highest of quality. The stories, however, are very fun! "
