" Excellent experimental novel from a modern day literary light. Knoxvillians, those who remember the Butcher banking scandal and the 1982 World's Fair, and those who love Southern lit should read this book. "

" The perfect book. Great characters, great humor and politics all rolled into one fantastic and entertaining read. "

" Filled with the corrupt charm of the late 70s to mid 80s South, this was a compelling read. The only hiccup was several of the chapters written in screenplay format, and one in play format. It was distracting and I couldn't put my finger on what the intended effect was meant to be. "

" I very rarely stop in the middle of a book unless I am completely bored. I stopped in the middle of this book. I have been reading it for weeks and was barely in the middle of it. Some of it reads like a screenplay. I just could not get into it. "
