Publisher Description

Renowned Southern author Inman Majors has received favorable comparisons to Robert Penn Warren for this tale of ambition set during the 1970s. Here two brothers discover just how far they are willing to go to realize their dreams. Brothers Roland and J.T. Cole inherited a small bank from their father and used it to build a considerable fortune. Now Roland is angling to become Tennessee's next governor, while J.T. is pushing hard to bring a World's Fair to the small city of Glenville. But these two new-money siblings are rubbing the old guard the wrong way, and soon their empire comes under investigation

"Excellent experimental novel from a modern day literary light. Knoxvillians, those who remember the Butcher banking scandal and the 1982 World's Fair, and those who love Southern lit should read this book."

" The perfect book. Great characters, great humor and politics all rolled into one fantastic and entertaining read. "

" Filled with the corrupt charm of the late 70s to mid 80s South, this was a compelling read. The only hiccup was several of the chapters written in screenplay format, and one in play format. It was distracting and I couldn't put my finger on what the intended effect was meant to be. "

" I very rarely stop in the middle of a book unless I am completely bored. I stopped in the middle of this book. I have been reading it for weeks and was barely in the middle of it. Some of it reads like a screenplay. I just could not get into it. "
