" I really likes this book. It was a bit slow in the beginning, but once it took hold I couldn't put it down. I am a horror buff so this book did not let me down. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Cathy Marcotte | 2/17/2014

" This one is scary, but very Rosemary's Baby... "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Craig | 1/22/2014

" I get the feeling I will be holding this book in a couple of years forgetting that I have already read it. This book is okay, a straight up supernatural thriller that moves along. The problem is the subjects covered have been done so many times before: haunting building, age renewal through vampirism, and the usual creepy stuff. There are also no surprises and some loose ends left untied. If you have never read Saul before I would recommend one of his other books. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Jeans77 | 1/22/2014

" I picked this one up off the library shelf - just because of the title, or the cover, or whatever. It turned out to be a decent book. A bit of mystery, a bit of horror and suspense about a mother protecting her children from her new husband and the neighbors in the Rockwell apartment building in Manhatten. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Daniel | 12/30/2013

" One of my favorite Saul novels. Found out that Saul and his personal secretary scour the streets of America hoping to find yet another old house or building to use as a location for his scary actions! "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Aaron | 12/25/2013

" Has its moment, and I loved the epilogue, but overall it is just much too similar to his other works, notably "Darkness." "

" Alas, the older I get, the worse it seems John Saul's writing gets. It's good for a beach read, I suppose. Not too much different than his usual plots. "
