After the fall of the American Ayatollahs as foretold in Stranger in a Strange Land and chronicled in Revolt in 2100, the United States of America at last fulfills the promise inherent in its first Revolution: for the first time in human history there is a nation with Liberty and Justice for All. No one may seize or harm the person or property of another, or invade his privacy, or force him to do his bidding. Americans are fiercely proud of their re-won liberties and the blood it cost them; nothing could make them forswear those truths they hold self-evident. Nothing except the promise of immortality...

" These two stories are interesting, but they feel unfinished. Right about the time you're really excited about the story, it just stops. "

" Revolt in 2100 was too disjointed for me - it was more like several novellas strung together and not too coherently at that. I did enjoy Methuselah's Children. It had Heinlein's trademark dry humor and general philosophy of life. "

" Heinlein's thoughts, in the postscript to Revolt In 2100, on the rise of religious fanaticism are apropos to our current situation. "The custodians of the True Faith cannot logically admit tolerance of heresy to be a virtue." "

" I only read Methuselah's Children at the recommendation of my husband. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Jay | 2/27/2013

" Revolt in 2100,+1 million. A fine warning on the dangers of theocracy. Methuselah's Children, meh. Not one of Heinlein's best works. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Todd | 2/18/2013

" A very prescient book, Revolt is the companion work to the excellent Stranger in a Strange Land. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Fredrick Danysh | 8/31/2012

" American's have a second revolution to achieve freedom from the ayatollahs in "Revolt in 2100". In "Methuselah's Children", some people have much longer lives and everyone elase wants the secret to immortality. "
