"Nicholas Sparks has done it again! This is just classic Sparks. His books seem to have many things in common. You can tell it's a Sparks book just by reading the first couple pages. And this is no different! Nicholas is such a fantastic story teller. These stories get me so entranced, and I can never put the books down. Although Message in a Bottle isn't one of my favorites of his, it was still very good. I wasn't as into the love of Theresa and Garrett as I usually am. I never thought they were the cutest couple ever like I have for some of his other books, but it was still an adorable story. I had never gotten around to reading this one because the movie is his oldest movie, and they were actors/actresses that I had never heard of before. And the Sparks movies that have actors/actresses that I recognize and love like Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum, Amanda Seyfried, and now Julianne Hough make me want to read them even more. So I'm glad I'm in the Nicholas Sparks challenge so that I can now force myself to read all of these fantastic love stories. I used to think that the people who read Sparks' books were usually not big readers. I thought that people read them even if they weren't big readers because they were mindless love stories. But I actually REALLY enjoy them. I've read a lot, and they still do a lot for me. Nicholas Sparks is actually a fantastic writer, and he makes you fall in love with his characters and his stories. And they aren't just only sappy love stories. I think they have so much more depth, and if you're weary of trying one out, I advise you do. They're amazing!" — Elizabeth (4 out of 5 stars)

" One of the finest books made by Nicholas Sparks. It moved me so much especially in the end part. It makes me wonder if there could be someone like Garrett in this real world and if he's really existing I hope I could meet him in person. =) "
" I really did't expect it to be a sad ending one. I thought Garret would survived at first, I really surprised that he didn't. I burst into tears because Garret was died :( but I still love it :) "
" Love love love both the book and the movie!! "
" A great read. If you're looking to get away from your hectic lifestyle this is definently the book to use for that. It has a romantic story but like every Nicholas Sparks book it's a bit bittersweet. "
" Easy quick read. One of favorite books of all time. "
" Don't watch the movie. It's stupid. The book is marvelous! Be prepared to cry if you are a crier! "
" Its a good read..with an unexpected unsatisfying end for the protagonist.. "
" Oh, so sad, shiver giving and touching. So tragic, yet beautiful. "
" A beautiful story by Nicholas Sparks filled to the brim with so many different emotions - romance, heartache, yearning, sadness. Simply a wonderful book! "
" The first Nicholas Sparks book I ever read and it got me hooked! I have read everything this man has written ever since. It a fantastic love story that leaves the reader in suspense and hope. "
" This was really bittersweet. I was so upset with the ending, but it was so beautiful how he ended. The last sentence...totally breathtaking! "
" i am a big Nicholas Sparks fan "
" can't find words to describe this book... "
" A divorcee and a widower. And this widower who write letters to his dead wife. Those tear-jerker damned letters. I feel sorry for Catherine really. I think she would always be overshadowed with the dead wife. Good luck to her happy-ever-after. "
" Love in its impossible circumstance... "
" Didn't enjoy this, very predictable. Guessed the ending almost on page one...never read any of his books before not sure i will read anything else of his. "
" This was a very good story for sure. I loved the twist ending definitely. It added a whole new perspective to life and I really enjoyed it. :) "

" You may find love in the most unexpected way.. "
" its a great book ...although its not as good as a walk to remember by nicholas sparks but still its touching especially if you don't know the end climax. "
" Abandoned after two chapters. Typical Hallmark chick flick. "
" Enjoyed the book very much, I like Nocholas Sparks way of writing and want to read more. "
" The book that made me hate anything Nicholas Sparks. "
" I really like this, i would like to have given it a 3.5. i just wish the ending was different.... "
" This book made me cry a bucket! "
" I'm torn between liking this book and thinking that Sparks writing tends to follow a somewhat predicitable pattern. A fast read. "
" It is a amazing story of true love with sadness aswell. Love the story but not the way it ended. But not all the love stories have a happy ending, do they? "
" Another great novel by Nicholas Sparks "
" Another great story by Nicholas Sparks "
" This is the book the got me addicted to Nicholas sparks. "
" I really enjoyed the story, but the begining was a little slow. I was inspired by the image of unconditional, never ending love potrayed in this story. "
" this wasn't one of my favorites..but it was still good. "
" I've had the movie for this book DVR'd for several months but I made myself wait to watch it until after I've read the book - I prefer it that way. May have to watch it tonight but not sure I have any tears left for it after finishing the book today. ;) "
" Not as good as The Last Song was! "
" This book was so sad. It reminds me of the rescue when he couldn't fall in love with the girl because of his past. But unlike the rescue, in the message in a bottle, the man dies. "
" very moving story but why does Nicholas Sparks always create tragic endings? "
" This book is slow to start but it's a wonderful story. If you do like I did and watch the movie after, you will be very upset because the two are VERY different! "
" While this novel has a rather predictable plot line, Sparks once again manages to capture the heart of the reader. This story gave me a new perspective on love and loss as I furiously tore through the book. It is by far one of the best books that I have read by him. "
" Very nice story! But i wonder why do protagonist have to die at the end of the story( like 'A Walk to Remember') just to teach us a valuable lesson? "
