" I read the first books of the series when they came out but have lost track of the author until I noticed one of his books in the library. Always fun to discover a good writer has added to his list of books. I enjoy the Northern MN setting though this book didn't grab me as much as I remembered the earlier books. But what fun to know there is more good mystery to read. "

" Krueger is a really good writer. Sense of place--very good. I was disappointed with the story ending, however; it seemed makeshift. There was also with a breakdown in police procedure that ignored a major player in the story until the rickety end. "

" Good cop thriller. Seems likes it is going to be the first part in a two part story. There were a lot of loose ties at the end of the book including the fact that O'Conner has to go into hiding to protect himself from a contract put out to end his life. Copper River is next... "

" Books that place you in a particular area and pull you into the scene, life, and rhythm are enjoyable. Learning about Minnesota was fun. "

" William Kent Krueger has wonderful, believable characters. Sheriff Cork O'Connor gets a "routine" call to a nearby Ojibwe reservation, but nothing is routine after that. Suspense, intrigue, human failings--it's all there. "

" It was pretty good. Typical WKK. I thought the way it ended was weird. It must be a two-parter, because he left a lot hanging. I haven't read Blood Hollow yet, so maybe that is the follow up. WKK is easy to read. I like that it's set in MN. "
