"This is a very compelling story about a young man who happens upon a dead person, in an urn, and feels a connection to her that leads him back to finding out more about his missing father in a unique but believable way. I liked all the characters in this book, including the much maligned teenage sister."

" Really quick but lovely mystery with a boy whose father has been missing for years and a dead woman who is somehow everywhere once he starts searching. The character finds all these hints and clues that add together and finally become this huge mystery. Will it be solved? haha who knows "

" I looked at this book and thought, "this won't be anything special." However I got absorbed as I realized how the main character thinks a lot, like me. Him and I both are pretty logical thinkers..... and I liked the story too. "

" I quite liked this book actually. I think that Jenny Valentine has done well to get into the mind if 16 year old Lucas. as well as reading a new book I found out what an urn is and this may be useful to me when I am doing some English work. "

" This one was a reverse sandwich for me - with the meat at the beginning and end, the low carb bread in the middle. I found it's casual approach to drug use and drinking interesting - and the entire plot strong in it's originality. "

" There's a little bit of suspension of disbelief (LOTS of coincidences)to totally enjoy this book, but enjoy it you should. It reads fast, but unfolds slowly, and has a highly satisfactory ending that shouldn't come as a surprise, but did to me. "

" I didn't enjoy this book at all. I had to read this for the monthly book club. I've seen this book on the shelves before and I never wanted to read it. The plot was short and I think it was very boring. The ending was a dud. It was bad. That is all I have to say. "

" I almost didn't finish this one as I thought it was kind of boring. Although, I think the writing was actually pretty good. Had a really good ending, though so my quirky, 'i-have-to-finish-a-book-to-find-out-what-happens' paid off in this case. "

" The title in the UK is "Finding Violet Park": I find it more explicit as it is the story of a search for a person who disappeared. In fact two persons as it is about Violet Park but also the father of the girl who tells the story since he also disappeared... Very nice tale. "

" Valentine's highly-commended first novel is a surprising joy. An original premise, with all too many coincidences that tie the whole thing together, this would be a contrived mess, were it not for her characters and skilful narrative. "
