Dangerous sex, family secrets, irresistible power, mega money, and two murders equal one reckless week in New York. Lovers and Players takes you on a high-powered trip from Park Avenue to Brooklyn.

Jackie Collins is back in her most deliciously scandalous novel yet. And she's giving her readers a revealing look into the private realms of her fabulously rich and sexy cast of characters.

In Lovers and Players, the Diamond family's power extends from coast to coast. Max, a real estate tycoon; Chris, a Hollywood lawyer; and Jett, a young, handsome ex-druggie, now a successful model in Italy, must finally come face to face with their tyrannical father, Red, who has been controlling their world for as long as they can remember.

Working as Red's housekeeper is Diahann, a beautiful black ex-singer. Her stunning bi-racial 19-year-old daughter, Liberty, a waitress who is a would-be singer herself, does not approve of her mother working as a housekeeper. Liberty has dreams of her own and while she pursues them, Damon P. Donnell, married hip-hop mogul supreme, pursues her.

Amy Scott-Simon, a beguilingly pretty young New York heiress, is engaged to marry Max Diamond. At her bachelorette party she runs into Jett, Max's younger brother. Jet has no idea who Amy is. She also doesn't realize who he is. A one-night fling leads to major complications.

As the lives of these characters intertwine, power, money, fame and love are the ties that bind, emotionally and otherwise, in this highly charged love story about family relationships and deadly choices. Download and start listening now!

" I was looking for something steamy to read... but it's hard to get into any steamy parts when the characters in this book had so few redeeming qualities. Jackie Collins must be a jaded and I'm glad my view of men and children differ from hers. She depicts a child in this book, meant to be five years of age, as such a whiny irritating specimen who can hardly form full sentences... my kids were more articulate then that at age two! I disliked the soap-opera-esc feel of this novel. She actually ended scenes with terms like, "But he wouldn't do something like that... (dramatic pause) Or, would he?" I could practically see the pained far away look in the characters eyes and hear the DON DON DAHHHHN of the music. "

" Lots of twists and wild connections. I liked this book just as much as I liked other Jackie Collins books I've read. It was strange to me to mix "true love" with sex scandals and murder, but what can you do. "

" The usual drama and twisted scenarios you expect from a Jackie Collins novel. If you like this kind of reading, you won't be disappointed. "

" Well some people think of chocolates as their guilty pleasure, for some it may be reality tv and few others it may be nasty fast food. Mine is Jackie Collins! I read this "fluff" purely to pass time without working my brain. I can read a book in just about a day so it kind of refreshes my mind. She has a success formulae: sex, drugs and celebrity gossip= success. Most of her books fall into this genre and is soothingly mind numbing! "

" Probably one of the worst books I read this year so far. Had never read anything by this author before, the book was a birthday present from a friend. Not only is the story too perfect to be true (everyone getting each other in the end, the poor girl becoming a mega star, the bad guy dying) it was also a drag and way over the top. Not recommended. "

" For my first JC novel it wasn't bad, main character was v evil and it took me ages to work out the connection between the Diamond brothers and Liberty. "

" This was a good, quick, trashy novel. I picked it up at the airport, and was surprised that it was better than I thought. I had a hard time putting it down at the end becuase I had to know what was going to happen. It was kind of like reading a daytime soap opera. "

" A nice addition to Collins growing list of books. However, I would say that certain parts of this booked lacked luster, and often left you feeling void of the proper care and handling character development truly needs. Certain parts tended to be rather predictable. "

" lovers and players is a really great book. It stunned me from page 1 to the last page. Red Diamond really opened my eyes to see that sons have just as hard a time with dads as daughters do. I don't even think that you will not find a better villain this side of 2000. "
