Publisher Description

When a bulldozer in the Everglades unearths the skull of an infamous kidnapper, the Cold Case Squad is brought in to investigate. Miami crime reporter Britt Montero was the last person to see him alive, and the detectives have questions only she can answer. Meanwhile, on a remote island where she has sought solace, Britt finds a camera on an isolated beach. The film inside yields photos of a happy young couple on their honeymoon. Soon after, Britt is shocked to learn the newlyweds were lost at sea.

When only the groom is rescued, a connection between the reporter and the new widower, who has a habit of marrying women who then die on their honeymoons, astonishes her. Britt finds herself desperate and in danger, and only one person can help: Cold Case Squad Lt. K.C. Riley, the childhood sweetheart of Britt's old flame, Kendall McDonald. The two women must confront their differences in order to survive and to protect the life of someone they both care about deeply.

"This is # 9 in the Britt Montero series. Britt finds herself on the case of the murderous bridegroom when she uncovers that the groom has lost several wives on their honeymmoons due to bizarre "accidents". Her tracking os the groom is somewhat hendered by her pregnancy. Good story."

" I believe I am required by law to continue reading Edna Buchanan's books, even though her last few haven't been as good as the first Britt Montero ones. I always giggle over the fact that I'm sure Britt is Edna's alter ego, and Britt is as close to sainthood as a living human can get. "
