" I think the decision to create a hero who is something other than fabulously wealthy is always interesting. Refreshing. I'm basically a fan of this JAK and the sequel -- they're fun and I like the characters. Observation: to create the laconic, simple-yet-manly hero, JAK-style, drop the initial pronoun from the sentence. Thus we have "Never thought of that." And "Thought you'd see it that way." Effective. Unfortunately, once you notice it, you will notice it everywhere until it drives you crazy. "

" At the beginning of this book I would have rated it 3 stars. However, as I read I got attached to the characters (Ethan Truax, a self-employed private eye and Zoe Luce, an interior designer--not decorator, thank you very much!)and found myself eager to solve the mystery. This was my first Jayne Ann Krentz novel and I will definitely read the continuing saga in Truth or Dare. While this book has a few red-hot scenes, it focuses more on the mystery. "
