The New York Times best-selling author of spellbinding thrillers, Larry Bond has won widespread praise for both the gritty authenticity of his military-political adventures and his matchless talent at generating edge-of-your-seat suspense. Now Bond launches an exciting new series that rockets straight from the cutting edge of America's war on terror.

Officially designated the Joint Services Special Demands Project, the Team is a unique unit with an almost unlimited budget, authorized to acquire vital intelligence and take immediate action, with the field officer calling the shots.

A quantity of radioactive waste being shipped across the former Soviet Union has gone missing. In the wrong hands the stolen material could be used to create a dirty bomb capable of killing thousands and rendering any American city uninhabitable for centuries. The clock is ticking, though the Team doesn't know it yet. Their unseen enemy has already chosen a target, the island paradise of Honolulu.

Larry Bond's First Team is a fast-paced thriller by one of America's masters of international suspense.

" took forever to read this tiny book...and sadly the movie was even worse than the book "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Kate | 2/13/2014

" I went between liking this book and really disliking this book. It was okay, but I don't think it's something I would have picked up on my own. The main character only seemed to care about his pride and I found it kind of mean how not only all his friends turned on him, but his girlfriend did too! It was okay I guess. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Raina | 2/11/2014

" Wow!! This was REALLY quite good. I have heard that it is also a movie. Hope that the film did it justice. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Barbara | 2/2/2014

" Great book on honor, friendship, and integrity. Not one character in this book seemed to have any resentment towards another regardless of the circumstances they were put into. There is a constant theme of 'casting no blame' but rather dealing with the consequences in a 'right thing to do' fashion. There might have been competition, but never misinterpretation of any of the character's actions, always understanding. Interesting, since it still provided suspense, mystery, intrigue, and romance. "

    " Wow! What a great book! "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Nick Pocock | 1/23/2014

" A simple tale of honour. Beautifully written. This is not an action novel but more about the feelings and misunderstandings of friends. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Fred | 1/19/2014

" Late-Romantic tale of love and honor. Well worth the read. A sensibility that was nearly old-fashioned at the turn of the century and then annihilated by WWI. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Jessie | 1/16/2014

" A man so afraid of cowardice that he commits a cowardly act spends years trying to redeem himself. Romance, adventure... And much unchecked imperialistic colonialism. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Kellie | 11/14/2013

" Took me a quite a while to get into it, but once I did, LOVED IT. Maybe it's just a little harder to read with kids climbing all over you. Such a different way of live back then, so glad to be living NOW! "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Morgan | 9/29/2013

" Has a dry style, like much writing of its era, but excellent character development. Please read this before wasting time on the film. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Janae Davis | 9/22/2013

" This was a book selected by my book club. I thought it book was OK, but not a lot of twists or turns. The plot turned out almost exactly as I would have expected. I kept thinking that it would make a good movie..so I put the movie on hold at the library--we'll see. "

" After seeing the movie (which I disliked) I was a bit hesitant to read the book. However, I am glad I did! The book is much better! "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Rose West | 7/16/2013

" This book has very strong themes: love, loyalty, honor, cowardice. The writing lacks style, though the storyline is interesting but boring. I was bored. And Ethne seemed dull. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Tom Darrow | 10/19/2012

" Predictable adventure story. The element about shame and being a social class outcast isn't as fully developed as it could have been. "

" Co-written with Jim DeFelice. I suspect that Bond offered only the use of
his name to this effort as it is badly written. I retired after 50 pages.
