On the ultimate treasure hunt, young Jim Hawkins finds himself battling the infamous Long John Silver in this classic pirate story.

" Closer to 4.8. I really enjoyed this book--it helped to have a background knowledge of it via Muppet's Treasure Island--but despite the nautical terms that went over my head, I liked the plot, characters and adventure! You know it's a good book if it causes me to audibly gasp, laugh, and cry (well, not so much the last one). My favorite characters were Silver (thanks mainly in part to Tim Curry), Jim Hawkins, the Doctor, Captain Smollet, and the Squire. "
