Arranged marriages seldom happen in modern America, so Daisy Devreaux hates her father's ultimatum: marry the humorless man he has picked for her, or go to jail. It's not much of a deal for Alex Markov, the prospective groom, either. He's got no time to indulge an uptown girl.

So Alex puts Daisy to work in his traveling circus, expecting the harsh realities will break her. Instead, he finds she's got heart enough for both of them.

"Terrific...warm and wonderful." (Rendezvous)

" The most thrilling and important part of this book for me was the fact that Alex was somehow relation to the Czar. Everything else was cliched and kind of bland.. and I really do believe that Daisy ended up forgiving him a little too easily. I would have enjoyed the book way more if they had elaborated on Alex's historic background. Blehh. "

" Pure fluff. I need these sweet little romances to balance the load sometimes. This book is great to reread when I need a break. "

" I think this is actually my favorite Susan Elizabeth Phillips book yet! The writing was less cheesy than some of her other books, and I loved the characters. She really did a great job developing the characters. During the climax of the story when Alex and Daisy are performing in the ring after she tells him the big news, then how he takes care of her and opens his heart to her, I actually cried. Very sweet story. "

" It was pretty slow to start... I couldn't figure out if it was trying to be a paranormal or what... well it wasn't. It ended up being a pretty good book, and towards the end I really enjoyed it. I started getting really involved with the main character. I don't think I would read this again unless she wrote a sequel involving a secondary character. "

" Very enjoyable. A definite re-read. I love a h with a heart of gold, a smile for everyone and a strong backbone, even if it took her a minute to find it. "

" This book is not part of the Chicago Stars series, but it's my favorite. Forced to marry a circus performer by her father, Daisy's story had me rolling with laughter. Especially, when she had to muck out the stalls. I saw a trailer on this book on youtube that was incredibly HOT! Whew! "

" Rather interesting story with a circus setting incorporating elephants and tiger. I understand Alex had issues and his domineering behavior brought out Daisy's strength of character but I felt his bossiness to her meekness overplayed ... my rating 3.5* "
