" This was a really charming book! For younger readers, but that didn't turn me off at all, which is the sign of a really great book. Lovely characters, good plot (though a bit predictable for an experienced reader)and a nice introduction to Brazil. "

" Journey to the River Sea is a different however interesting book. I don't usually read book that kind of genre but it was a nice change. It was a great book, once you read the first few chapters of the book, you cant stop! "

" A wonderful old-fashioned adventure story, about the magic of the Amazon, the tyranny and greed of adults, and the resourcefulness of children. Every Eva Ibbotson book I've read has been good. "

" I would rather give it a 3.5, but I liked it enough to bump it up to 4. I would have *loved* this book as an elementary school student. The only thing that bothered me now was the idea of the "noble savage". That said, it was a good story and interesting writing. "
