Gene Healy, senior editor at the Cato Institute, is the author of several books on executive-power abuses by presidents of both parties, including Power Surge and, recently, The Cult of the Presidency. Healy has appeared on PBS's News Hour and NPR's Talk of the Nation.

Mickey Kaus writes Kausfiles, a political weblog for Slate magazine. He has written about public policy for Newsweek, New Republic, and Washington Monthly, where he remains a contributing editor. Kaus is the author of The End of Equality, which was a co-winner of the 1992 Washington Monthly Political Book Award.

Lawrence O'Donnell is a political analyst and former chief of staff for the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance. He was also an Emmy Award-winning producer for the NBC series The West Wing.
