" Fantastic book series. This one easily scores 4 1/2 stars. As a whole I'd rate the series as a 5. The plot wasn't mind blowing but the books were page turners. Nothing stood out as fantastic on its own, yet they were fantastic as a whole. I really liked the whole family aspect. I think the author caught the difference in cultures very well. The relationships didn't drag out or get bogged down in drama. The religion aspect was well handled without stepping on toes. In short, it was all very well done. The only thing was that I wished that somehow - spoiler alert here - the Wilder's could have kept their shapeshifting abilities. I'm glad the author didn't do it, that would have probably ruined the whole thing or trivialized the entire plot purpose, but I wished for it just the same. "

" This book was not as developed as the first three. You knew there would be a confrontation with the Valiskies. Just thought it would have been more to it. "

" Firebird and Doug's story is the end of the series. Their story is really the answer to some questions I had about somethings in the other stories that came together in this one. "

" This book was a great end to a series that I enjoyed very much. I enjoyed the family camaraderie and love, the battle between good and evil, and the supernatural elements. I appreciate that Dodd does not artificially prolong things yet still keeps you in suspense. "

" yeah... i couldn't even get through the end of this. Dodd's style is a little too uneven for me. I felt like I was reading something from a young high school student - a talented student - but still not worthy of a contemporary adult audience. "
