Publisher Description

When history professor Alison Carter became a consultant to the film version of the Wild West legend she’d dedicated her career to researching, she couldn’t possibly have known that she would not only get a front-row seat to a full-blown Hollywood circus but would innocently witness something that would put her life in peril. Nor did she expect that a tall stranger in a cowboy hat would turn the movie — and her world — completely upside down. A. J. Gallagher didn’t crash the set in dusty Arizona to rub elbows with Hollywood’s elite. Unable to ignore ghosts from the past that refuse to stay buried, A.J. came to put an end to the false legend that has tarnished the reputation of his family. But when he confronts Alison, sparks fly. And when Alison is targeted by ruthless criminals, suddenly she and A.J. must face the intense attraction that threatens to consume them—and survive the danger that threatens their very lives. “[Brockmann] is one of the superstars of romantic suspense.” — The Dallas Morning News

"I was skeptical at first that Suzanne Brockmann could pull off a ghost narrator throughout the entire story, but it worked for me. I enjoy an omniscient presence so I don't have to wait for other characters to communicate enough to put together all the pieces. I will say that there was LOTS of danger in the plot, and maybe all of it wasn't entirely necessary. As with other books I've read from this author, it's the characters that sell the story. I also enjoy the history she infuses."

" I continue to completely enjoy the stories of Suzanne Brockmann. She works in romance, history, humor, education, and tolerance all while telling a great story. Without taking anything away from the main story, Suzanne is able to work in important points about HIV/safe sex and acceptance of homosexuality- it's fantastic. "

" I like the Troubleshooters series that she writes -- quick paced, interesting characters I can't help but like. Great "junkfood" books! This book? Meh. The premise of the ghostly return of the wronged grandfather just didn't do anything for me. "

" This book was realllllllllly slow for me. Altho I do love Ms Brockmann's books ,this one left me wanting to skip to the end and give up....which I did..lol Interesting story...but wayyyyy to much filler for me. Cant wait for Izzy's story tho~! "

" Not a fan of this book. I would love to give it even three stars...it certainly doesn't earn four...but, I can't. I love the last 100-150 pages and that is it. The rest is mind numbingly confusing. I don't like the alternating point of view AND the epistolary device. I do give Brockmann kudos for keeping her characters real! "

" Ok, I know a lot of people didn't care for this one. I liked it. I can't say that it will be among my favorite Suz Brockmann books, but I did like it. It was different and unusual. The story kept me interested and I liked the characters. "

" This is not really a paranormal romance, but a straight, contempory romance and mystery with a ghost. It rambled a bit, but it had action, historical fiction, romance and a little ghostly mystery. It was an enjoyable read. "

" This book was fun, entertaining and far from Brockmann's best work. I loved the first person narration of the ghost, but somehow I think the ghost himself detracted from the story-telling, along with the randomly inserted diary entries. "
