The pleasure of your company is requested at the wedding of Miss Eliza Cynster ... but not until she's rescued from a daring abduction by the mostunexpected of heroes!

Brazenly kidnapped from her sister Heather's engagement ball, Eliza Cynster is spirited north to Edinburgh. Desperate and determined to escape, she seizes upon the first possible champion who happens along - gentleman scholar Jeremy Carling.

Villains and rescues are a far cry from Jeremy's expertise, yet he cannot abandon a damsel in distress. But danger lurks and hurdles abound in their race to escape the mysterious laird, until a final confrontation on a windswept cliff reveals what their future life could hold - if both are bold enough to capture and own the unexpected love they now share.

" Took a different twist for Laurens, not her usual hero. I really liked the "non-perfect" aspects of hero and heroine. I really think that the protagonist is being set up to be the hero in the 3 Cynster sisters book. You sorta liked him by the end of the first and in this one he becomes heroic, a villain by necessity not personality. Makes me eager to read the third. "

" Again I love Stephanie Laurens! Again a fun story where the characters are well developed and continue to be very realistic when facing challenges...but the love scenes... Really - that many pages... more mystery in that area would be positive! I will ave to read number three when it comes out, despite the fact I am pretty sure I know the basic characters and story line! "

" More bearable than the first book. The story was still pretty terrible and practically just like book#1 but Eliza & Jeremy's character/romance was decent enough to read without rolling my eyes. "

" Better than the first book in the series, but still too much travelogue, not enough character development. And must every hero be/turn into a "warrior"? Scholars can be sexy, too! "
