Publisher Description

I'll Have a Blue, Blue Christmas is a follow-on story to the novel Deep Blue. In Deep Blue, Brandt - our hero - is gifted, or cursed, depending on your perspective, with the Blues. These aren't your average, every day blues. Brandt becomes a conduit for the pain and suffering of the world, all that has gone before, all that is happening now. He has to play. The pain builds up inside, and the music is his release. He helps maintain the balance. He got this gift from a man he only knows as Old Wally, a black man with a harmonica he met in an alley filled with the homeless. Wally helps Brandt and his crew through the worst dangers of the novel Deep Blue, but we never really visit where he came from. In I'll Have a Blue, Blue Christmas, you can join with Brandt in a special Christmas vision, where you learn the story of Wally's past, where he got the harmonica, and how he found the blues...

"I have been meaning to read this at Christmas for years and I finally got round to it this year! This is a quick read, probably helped by the fact that I know the story so well. I was slightly nervous about reading a Dickens novel as I haven't read any of his works since GCSE English many years ago. However as this is a shorter novel and very well know, there was no need to worry. Not an uplifting Christmas read but definfitely a must read."

" Not as entertaining as his other books - characters are not as developed, story is more superficial. As famous as this story is, the book itself was disappointing. "

" I read 'A Christmas Carol' for the first time a few years back on Christmas day :) Read it again today. I seem to have forgotten most of the story. But it was nice even on the re-read. The first few passages of the story are vintage Dickens. The ending of the story is heartwarming. A beautiful classic. "

" It was such a wonderful read, perfect for the holiday season. The first time I ever heard of this story was when I was very young and watched the Muppet's Christmas Carol. I still watch it every year but when I read this I couldn't help but picture Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge and all the muppets running around haha. I really do recommend reading this during the holidays. You won't regret it and if you do well...Bah Humbug to you! "

" This is much better than watching a television/movie version any day! I am so glad I bought this so I can share with my future children. It's no wonder why so many attempts have been made to capture the exuberant climax. I recommend everyone read the unabridged story. You won't regret it! "
