Kaeleigh and Raeanne are 16-year-old identical twins, the daughters of a district court judge father and politician mother running for U.S. Congress. Everything on the surface seems fine, but underneath run very deep and damaging secrets.

When the girls were 9, Daddy turned to his beloved Kaeleigh in ways a father never should. Raeanne needs to numb the pain of not being Daddy's favorite; Kaeleigh wants to do everything she can to feel something normal, even if it means cutting herself and vomiting after every binge.

How Kaeleigh and Raeanne figure out just what it means to be whole again when their entire world has been torn to shreds is the guts and heart of this powerful, disturbing, and utterly remarkable book. Download and start listening now!

Listener Opinions

" This book is about two identical twins and their dysfunctional family. You think you know everything there is to know about the two sisters, until you reach the unexpected twist at the end of the book. A very good read. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Lindy | 2/12/2014

" I listened to the first 30 minutes or so on audio and decided it's not for me. It seems the plot is really sick and twisted, I am sure teens need to be aware of these issues, but I just want to be left in the dark, thinking the world is a pretty perfect place... I am thinking at this point that I personally don't care for the style of books that Ellen Hopkins writes, and probably won't try to read another either. I am not a hater just a sissy who likes ribbons, curls, unicorns and pretty dreams! "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Sphinx Feathers | 2/10/2014

" A little confusing at times, but overall quite good. There were a lot of hints of what was happening to the main characters, but I don't think they would have been obvious if you don't know much about psychology. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Lydia | 2/2/2014

" This is by far one of my favorite books written by Ellen Hopkins, and it's definitely in my top 10. This book is beautifully written, like all of Ellen's books, with a haunting twist at the end. I was kept guessing what was going on the entire book. It's wonderful and I recommend it to anyone who has gone through any kind of hardships in life. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Asher | 1/31/2014

" This was amazing. I found it shocking, horrifying, and fascinating how much thought EH put into this! No plot holes, sticks with the original story to the very end... Amazing... "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Dr.Mandi | 1/29/2014

" Wow. I'm utterly speechless. This was an amazing book. The subject matter was difficult to read, but since I have dealt with sexual abuse and addiction in my work as a clinical psychologist, it wasn't as hard to read as it may be for others. The ending was a complete shocker! But again, totally fed into The psych part of me. This is a must read...although I don't necessarily like teens reading this...unless they have been through similar situations. It can be quite heavy and difficult to read. "

" This book was awfully depressing, and I sometimes felt very angry at the author when things didn't go the way I wanted it to. But I do love Ellen Hopkins, and I love the way she uses poems to write her stories. Overall, this was a very unique book, and like most of her books, I liked it a lot. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Hollie | 1/15/2014

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Kim | 1/9/2014

" Disturbing and powerful. Hopkins is definitely the master of her genre. This one seemed to go on longer than necessary, but that's because I kept wondering how she would tie up what I felt I already knew. "
