"I saw the movie first and loved it. What a huge shock to find the only thing it shares with the book is the names of the characters (which are amazing, my current favourite is Norbert the Nutjob and his quest to found Nutjobland in America!) and the fact there are Vikings and Dragons in both. I am a huge fan of these books, which I am reading together with my daughter, for all the laugh hysterically bits and the can't stop yet! even if it is past your bedtime bits and the characters and the drawings and well, just about everything! I do still think the movie was great, which is strange because I usually have a very low tolerance of deviation from the original. Maybe because I half want to see a movie that is actually about the book and half believe a movie could never measure up."
