" Homeboys is a very good book.It tells a story about kids in gangs and how a hood area is seperate and how the gang life is.This book reminds me of a movie called A Bronx Tale and the book The Outsiders. They kinda have the same story they are about gangs and mobs having beef with gangs. This book had a lot of suspense if had many cliff hangers you where always wondering what will happen next. "

" A walk in another's shoes... Frightening that many teens are facing this kind of violence daily. Students who think gangsta is all that, should definitely read this one. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Kym | 1/8/2014

" This book is a real look into ghetto/gang life. Although the violence comes across and makes the reader angry, it is portrayed in such a way that it is real, but not gruesome. It envelopes one's senses and the reader begins to feel the hopelessness of it all. A great read for teens and those who like a teen novel that deals with life as it is - raw, emotional, and not always with a happy ending. "

" Very engaging book. A fast moving story with rich characters. Full of language, violence, and sex, so not for everyone. Good for reluctant readers. It feels very "real." It was like reading an episode of The Wire. "
