Can there truly be love after death?
Drifting in the dark waters of a mysterious river, the only thing Amelia knows for sure is that she's dead. With no recollection of her past life—or her actual death—she's trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but will him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive.
Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that held her captive for so long. But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their newfound happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever.
Thrilling and evocative, with moments of pure pleasure, Hereafter is a sensation you won't want to miss.

"I really liked this book. It took me a little longer than usual to read as it started out slow. But as the chapters ended, the storyline picked up. The ending was enough to peak my interest to see what the next book is going to be about.....at least I hope there is going to be a next book! " — Emily (4 out of 5 stars)

“A tender and poignant love story with a ghostly twist.”
“Twisting together chilling mystery and sweet romance, Hereafter leaves the possibilities of a world unseen lingering in your mind and your heart long after you’ve turned the final page.”
“Hudson avoids the chunks of exposition that sometimes weigh down paranormal stories, and the narrative gradually unfolds as Amelia and Josh learn her history. It’s a straightforward tale, refreshingly without too much ‘apparatus,’ and an encouraging debut for Hudson.”
“A must for collections.”
" A heart-breaking, but breath taking novel. Another great end to a great trilogy. "

" Well done! Bittersweet and scary...can't wait to see what happens next. "
Tara Hudson decided to go premed in college, finishing her first year with a 4.0 GPA and an absolute hatred of her major. Two weeks into her sophomore year, in a moment of sheer abandon, she dropped all her science courses and enrolled in the only English writing classes still open. A few well-intended souls told her this was the worst decision she had ever made, but she knew they were wrong. A last minute of panic sparked by believing all the horror stories about English majors and their careers in the food service industry made her decide to attend law school, where she not only made her first B ever, but also learned how to trim down her writing. She found a career in law, but the love of books she regained in college still held her. Tired of stagnant memos, she spent one rainy afternoon writing a ghost story to entertain her friends. Twenty minutes after she emailed them a chapter, they wrote back, clamoring for more. And so began her career as an author.
