Publisher Description

FBI Agent Dillon Savich is on a challenging case involving the kidnapping of two teenage boys when trouble boils up in his personal life. His younger sister Lily has crashed her Explorer into a redwood in California's Hemlock Bay. Is it another suicide attempt, the second since the loss of her young daughter some seven months before? Savich and Sherlock discover that four of Lily's paintings, left to her by their very famous grandmother, artist Sarah Elliot, now worth millions, are at the heart of an intricate conspiracy. Lily and art broker Simon Russo are thrust into ever-widening circles of danger that radiate from a notorious collector's locked room. Dillon and his sister Lily both have to face their worst fears to survive.

"I didn't like or understand the Ghouls, so I'd have to say that was the one element of the book that really turned me off and distracted from the primary plot. Lily's a very independant character and I liked that. For once Savich and Sherlock were actually a bigger part of the story again. One of the better ones of the series so far if you don't count the entire Ghoul mess."

" Kind of strange with the detour to Sweden, but it made the store make more sense at the end. Good series for adventure and mystery. "

" I had read The Cove and The Maze and picked this book up to take on vacation. Imagine my surprise when I realized this was the 6th book of the FBI series. Needless to say I enjoyed it so much I went back and located #3, #4, and #5. "

" This book finally really involves the two main characters in this FBI series. The storyline is good but there's too much going on. The main premise of the sister and the art forgery is terrific. Of the two secondary storylines that sort of, but not really, have something to do with the main storyline the religous cult deaths could have been left out all together. The other secondary storyline is way out there and quite off the wall and probably should have been a complete novel all by itself. All that said, I did like reading this book. "

" The story line was really good, there was just something about the way the characters interacted that put me off. I also wasn't entirely sure what the point of 'the Ghouls' were. Maybe I missed the explanation somewhere. I loved all the books in this series up to this point, but I think this one was a major let down. "

" The sixth in the Catherine Coulter FBI series holds true to her story line and character formula. It was entertaining and had some interesting twists. For those who like her books, you won't be disappointed in getting lost in another mystery crime thriller. Patrick - award winning author, Lessons in the Journey "

" This book is one of my favorites in the series so far. Yeah the "ghouls" weren't easy to understand but do you have to have an explanation for everything? Having Savich be the only one to see them on the "team" I thought was a good idea. Can't wait to start on the next one in the series. "

" While it was an interesting story line, I did not like her writing style. Over use of the character's names in conversations, it all seemed stilted, or written by a beginning writer. As it was not her first book, I can't give her the benefit of a doubt. Don't think I'll read another by her. "
