Publisher Description

The recipe for happiness: making it up as you go along. Rising sous-chef Kelly Matlocks sudden collapse at work is a wake-up call. Disillusioned and burned out, shes retreated to her sister Jillians house in Virgin River to rest and reevaluate. Puttering in Jills garden and cooking with her heirloom vegetables is wonderful, but Virgin River is a far cry from San Francisco. Kellys starting to feel a little too unmotivated until she meets Lief Holbrook. The handsome widower looks more like a lumberjack than a sophisticated screenwritera combination Kelly finds irresistible. But less appealing is Liefs rebellious stepdaughter, Courtney. Shes the reason they moved from L.A., but Courtneys finding plenty of trouble even in Virgin River. Kellys never fallen for a guy with such serious baggage, but some things are worth fighting for. Besides, a bratty teenager cant be any worse than a histrionic chef right?

"I love Robyn Carr's Virgin River series. I am reading my way though the series. I've actually just read this one for the second time since I had read it long before I started reading the series in sequence and wanted to re-familiarize myself with the characters. I enjoyed it even more knowing the returning characters' back stories. Each book introduces new characters and story lines while catching up the reader with characters from past books. The story lines are interesting and the characters are people I'd love to know as family and friends. I am always a little sad to finish a book I've really enjoyed because it's a little like saying goodbye to good friends. The Virgin River series is like a great book that never ends."

" "Harvest Moon" is #13 in Robyn Carr's Virgin River Series. It is the story of Kelly Matlock, who at the beginning of the book is a sous-chef in a high class restaurant in San Francisco. When she passes out in the kitchen and is taken to the emergency room with a suspected heart attack, she re-evaluates her life and finds it lacking. She packs up all her possessions and moves in with her sister, Jilly, who runs an organic farm in Virgin River. She does a lot of cooking, baking, making sauces, salsa, chutney, jellies and she falls in love, not without a lot of problems along the way. Harvest Moon, like all Ms. Carr's Virgin River books was a quick and enjoyable read with a really good love story. "

" For a random, this is available right now library selection, I really enjoyed this. That said, I'm not sure I'd want to read anything else in the series, especially given how many books that apparently means we're talking about. "

" I really enjoyed Harvest Moon. I loved Leif and Kelly. It was an easy read and I also enjoyed reading about Leif's daughter, Courtney. She started out really bratty but she had a lot of stuff to deal with. Good book. "

" Great book if you're looking for a nice light read. Follows the standard romance formula (man and woman meet, both have baggage from previous relationships, teenager involved, man and woman fall in love but almost lose each other, but everything turns out OK). "
