BOOK 3 IN THE IRON DRUID CHRONICLES

Thor, the Norse god of thunder, is worse than a blowhard and a bully—he’s ruined countless lives and killed scores of innocents. After centuries, Viking vampire Leif Helgarson is ready to get his vengeance, and he’s asked his friend Atticus O’Sullivan, the last of the Druids, to help take down this Norse nightmare.

One survival strategy has worked for Atticus for more than two thousand years: stay away from the guy with the lightning bolts. But things are heating up in Atticus’s home base of Tempe, Arizona. There’s a vampire turf war brewing, and Russian demon hunters who call themselves the Hammers of God are running rampant. Despite multiple warnings and portents of dire consequences, Atticus and Leif journey to the Norse plain of Asgard, where they team up with a werewolf, a sorcerer, and an army of frost giants for an epic showdown against vicious Valkyries, angry gods, and the hammer-wielding Thunder Thug himself.

"This book isn't what I'd expected for the last book in the trilogy (or the last one of which I'm aware) but that just makes it more fun. Even convinced the DH to read the set. Loads of easy fun with a dry sense of humor and a Neil Gaiman joke to boot. How can you go wrong? (Hope Gaiman's read them!)"

" This one was ok. Enough to get me to read the next book, but not awesome. The first book in this series was my favorite so far. "

" In general, a great addition to the series. There are some great stories about the relationships with the gods - which is what I love about this series in particular, bringing the gods into a human perspective. The emotion, in the face of potential demise, is also heightened and deepens the character development. There is just too much time spent in the other worlds, and little happening. Perhaps that is because I dislike fight scenes. "

" Much better than the second book, but still not as good as the first. I really liked the epic battle towards the end of the book. I am looking forward to see where Atticus and Oberon are headed after this! "

" Thor really is a smug ass hole. The best one so far. I really have enjoyed each sub plot resolving in the next book. And it makes me hope this keeps getting better. "

" I keep finding myself recommending Mr. Hearne's books to everyone. Even people in line at trader joes. ACK! I am turning into a fan girl.and a big hug to Michelle who recommended them to me. I would never have picked them up otherwise. "

" Oy! I loved this book even more than the first two, and that is saying something. At a couple places I had to put the book down to ride out my belly laughs. Hearne is an excellent storyteller and has made it to my very short 'buy without even reading the back cover of the book' list. "

" My fav. amongst the three books released so far. KH's writing really jumps in this one as Atticus decides to take the big jump and train his wand on Thor along with five other highly pissed off super-folk. Full FBC review to come soon. "
