The definitive, authorized version of Che's manifesto on revolution - including his final revisions - completed just before his death. It is both an incisive handbook and an invaluable historical source. Home will be the open sky...each guerrilla fighter is ready to die not just to defend an idea, but to make that idea a reality. Ernesto Che Guevara remains one of the world's most iconic political and revolutionary figures. Fascinating to admirers and adversaries alike, he captured the minds of millions with his leadership and his belief in guerrilla warfare as the only effective agent to achieve political change.

Here, in his own classic text on revolution, Che draws on his first-hand experience of the Cuban campaign to document all aspects of guerrilla warfare, from its aims to its organization and training. He analyses how in Cuba, against all odds, a small band of dedicated fighters grew in strength with the support of the people to defeat a dictator's army.

" Neither useful as a historical document of the Cuban Revolution, nor as a blue print for rural revolution (Che was unable to replicate his Cuban success in South America or Africa), Guerrilla Warfare is a book that would have long ago been relegated to the dustbin of history, if the face of the most marketable communist in history didn't adorn the dust-jacket. Skip it. "

" One part pop-culture Marxism, one part "Ranger Rick's Tips, Tricks, and Info." The most ham-handed, junior varsity version of how to conduct guerrilla warfare ever. The only reason these guys won in Cuba was the singular incompetence of Fulgencio Batista. As Che would find out the hard way, the Foco was not a universal method. It also violated the Maoist method, which might be universal. In the end, by applying the methods herein, Che was hunted down and killed by the weakest state in South America, Bolivia. Good riddance to bad rubbish! "

" To read this book is to put yourself into the battlefield with the most celebrated revolutionario since George Washington. It is a gripping book that will show you how a proper revolution is started, fought, and how it is accomplished. Viva Che!! Viva la revolucion!! "

" Good antidote for those seduced by the "true revolutionary is guided by feelings of love" line; this is Che the Executioner. "

" As a historical document this is a reasonable book; however, as I am not planning on beginning an insurrection at the moment, I would not actually recommend this book. "

" Very detailed, almost to a fault, but not quite. It won't hold too much interest unless you are contemplating armed revolution yourself. "

" Great ideas now unfortunately dated but useful....Ulimately the CIA would use it to hunt Che down and kill him....Facing his death he told the guard, "Go ahead you are only killing a man"... "

" Che Guevara was a communist guerrilla who fought in central and south America until he was tacked down and killed. These are his ideas on how to fight a guerrilla war. "

" Pretty much the way to do it. It is a straight forward textbook. As far as I can tell, not being an expert or a soldier, the only "improvements" to be made involve either being nastier and/or using more psychological warfare. "

" Its okay read and could be a good example for someone who will attempt Guerilla warfare in this modern age, that i doubt will go far with new found technology.I loved reading about the discipline and Che's insight into how they planned the overthrow of the government. "
