" A fun read...good for the beach or vacation. I love her characters. Christie's plots are a little more well sketched. "

" Ngaio Marsh is always a good read, and this one did not disappoint. I didn't catch on until close to the end, and that's a requirement for me. "

" Very good – stands alone as a novel. It plays fair all the way through. It's a later work. Society has changed since she started writing and she's not really happy about it. Her books serve as a chronicle of Britain's changing society. She makes such vivid characters in such small sketches. "

" I couldn't actually read this book. Usually, mysteries are no problem for me to tear through (without using an ounce of brain power) but this one, despite it's credentials, left me very meh and I couldn't get beyond page 50 or so "

" Hmm, I read this a couple months ago and scarcely remember the plot. Not one of Marsh's better ones. "

" Verity Preston's life in the quiet village of Upper Quintern is disrupted when the past comes back in unexpected ways. "
