"A very engaging ending to the Riverworld series. A very different feel from the books in the middle of the series - this took the concept of Riverworld and the Tower to an ultimate conclusion, with a surprising but pretty satisfying ending. "

" After the finale of the fourth book, this story seems like more of a fan service to flesh out the mystery. I don't think the series needed this story, but I appreciate having it around as a definite answer to the ultimate mystery. "

" Considering how great the first two Riverworld novels were, this last book is a total disaster. I couldn't believe he ended it this way. "

" Could not finish it... it was pretty awful. Got halfway through listening to it and finally had enough. I think what put me over the edge was PFJ's point-of-view character describing a case of child sexual abuse he was witnessing via memory playback from one of the Riverworld residents. It was nauseating. Farmer should have left the series alone at the end of Magic Labyrinth. "

" I read this series years ago as part of the Sci Fi book club. All I recall about it was that it began as an interesting concept, but eventually devolved into something kind of silly and ridiculous by the end. Repeating this review for all 5 books in the series. "

" This is the last book in the series of Riverworld. I always remember the events that took place in the book and what led up to it. Teaches you to expect the unexpected, especially in life. "

" Read this ages ago and realize that I want to go back and read the first four books in the series. One characteristic of a good, original story is that you mentally come back to it again and again and I have thought of this work many times over the years. "

" Fascinating philosophy about resurrection and doing good. It just disagrees so much with mine! I wanted to see Samuel Clemens again, and some of the other characters that earlier books described. "

" Oh but wait, there's more... When I first read this series it concluded with the fourth book. I didnt know this was written later. It is very different since the last book concluded the main plot. This was gravy. I enjoyed the hell out of it! "
