Reclusive collector Cutter Merlin is seldom seen in Key West - lately, not at all. Officer Liam Beckett visits Merlin's curious house and discovers the gentleman in his study. In his death grip: a volume of occult lore and a reliquary. His eyes are wide with fright, his mouth a horrified rictus where spiders now dwell.

Kelsey Donovan returns to the old house to catalog her estranged grandfather's collection of artifacts and antiquities, vowing to see his treasures divested properly. But she cannot ignore the sense that she's being watched, the reports of malevolent black figures, the pervasive smell of death.

Is the Merlin house haunted, even cursed? Liam knows well that some ghost stories are true and he swears to protect Kelsey. But there are forces at work for whom one more life is a pittance to pay for their deepest desire....

" I love Heather Graham! I am never disappointed by her ghost stories! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Victoria | 2/9/2014

" It wasn't as good as the previous books. I don't know how to describe it but it just didn't seem to have that build up on clues and suspense like the other two books. But it was still a nice quick read. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Eva | 2/5/2014

" Probably the weakest of the Bone Island books, but still a fun read if you've already gone through the first two. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Rene Wolf | 2/1/2014

" Enjoyed this book. The characters were great, but there were a few parts that were repeats of other work by Graham. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Sara | 2/1/2014

" The romantic interest in this last of this trilogy was as predictable as the others, but the suspense and eventual unmasking of the murderer was satisfying. Again, the reader was left to wonder just a bit who had the best motive and also whether or not the guilty party was human or spirit. I must admit I was a little let down by the ending--everything was wrapped up in a neat little bow in and epilogue without revealing details. "

" I don't usually read genre novels, but the Key West setting intrigued me. The ending was a surprise and the characters were great. I just don't think real people "wince" as much as Graham thinks they do... "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Antonella | 1/20/2014

" so far it is pretty interesting. seems to be a mystery thats being unsolved slowly which keeps the suspense going. "
