Publisher Description

Hot on the heels of Richard Castle's number one New York Times best seller Heat Rises comes the fourth novel in the Nikki Heat series, Frozen Heat. Nikki Heat and Jameson Rook are together again, facing an unsolved murder mystery that has haunted Nikki for 10 years.

NYPD Homicide Detective Nikki Heat arrives at her latest crime scene to find an unidentified woman stabbed to death and stuffed inside a suitcase left on a Manhattan street. Nikki is in for a big shock when this new homicide connects to the unsolved murder of her own mother. Paired once again with her romantic and investigative partner, top journalist Jameson Rook, Heat works to solve the mystery of the body in the suitcase while she is forced to confront unexplored areas of her mother's background.

Facing relentless danger as someone targets her for the next kill, Nikki's search will unearth painful family truths, expose a startling hidden life, and cause Nikki to reexamine her own past. Heat's passionate quest takes her and Rook from the back alleys of Manhattan to the avenues of Paris, trying to catch a ruthless killer. The question is, now that her mother's cold case has unexpectedly thawed, will Nikki Heat finally be able to solve the dark mystery that has been her demon for ten years?

"This time Nikki is hunting a killer with a connection to her own past. The connection between Nikki Heat and Jameson Rook cannot be denied. I love the way these two work together. The trust and the not assuming the worst is refreshing. The trust isn't blind either, but more of a case to here what really happened. So many authors take the easy way out and keep the tension going by temporary mistrust. But that is not the way with Castle. He keeps the tension going while still having partners who have each others back. This fourth novel just came out and already I want the next one NOW."

" Another fun read from Richard Castle, the star of the TV series Castle. If you like the show you'll probably like the books which feature his characters Jameson Rook and Nikki Heat, based on himself and Detective Kate Beckett. In Frozen Heat, Nikki works a murder case with close ties to her mother's murder and so begins an emotional roller coaster as she solves the case that led her to becoming a cop in the first place. Lots of action, humor, intrigue, and romance. Its not great literature, but it is a good mystery. "

" This series is good all by itself, but you'll appreciate it even more if you watch the series and imagine Castle writing it. It has just the attitude that you'd expect from his writing. Rook is who he'd really like to be. "

" Ok ... Once again, Mr. Castle hits a home run! Just like the last books, this book does not disappoint. Dialogue is very witty and the story line was great. The author of course likes to tie in with the series which is great, because I am a big fan! Easy read and very entertaining!!! Can't wait for the next book! "

" I liked this one much better than the last one, probably due to Rook and Heat's relationship and her willingness to trust him. Here's hoping that it's not screwed with too much in future books in the series. Obviously, as it does on the TV show, Heat's mother's murder is going to resurface again. "

" 3.5 Stars These are fun books that are based upon the television show Castle. I do enjoy them quite a bit, but they feel predictable because the story lines follow the television show pretty closely. This one is about the search for the killer of Nikki Heat's mother. "

" This fourth book in the series concerns Nikki's mom's murder and her life from college to her murder when Nikki was 19. It was pretty good. The characters sound just like the TV actors who play them, probably because they're the ones who write this series too. Have to wait until next year for #5. "
