"The title says it all and you must read to understand the emotions involved with Elise's first love. I enjoyed reading this memoir and peeking in on the life of Nancy and her family. I'm a big believer in karma and somewhere out there is your soulmate. Your paths are destined to cross. What you do with that opportunity can be a feeling of regret or happiness. Truly the stars must have been aligned for Elise and for Nancy to see the potential for a great book!"

" I received this book free and it took a while before my reading pile was whittled down enough to read it. I enjoyed it. (This surprised me). It's not my normal type read and I won't go into spoilers but the writing was simple and unadorned. A good story, worth the read. "

" This is a true story about a couple that misses out on the chance to make a life together, but seizes the opportunity to make an end together 55 years later. Nicely done. "

" First Read win. I just got so caught up into this book. This is by far one of the most sweetest love stories I have read yet. The way the story is told and written just drags me into it and makes me wish to have a wonderful love just like this. I hope to read more from this author soon. "

" This southern memoir tells a captivating story about the author's mother. First Love is written with passion and humor about true love. I was traveling with Elise through her life, thanks to the author's attention to detail. Great read, the story intrigues. "

" Great story! On the surface, you would think it was just a romantic book for women. It had some of that but also had a great story line and interesting historical tidbits. "

" I would like to give this book 3 1/2 stars because I was a bit between the two. I really enjoyed reading the book and the story was good. It didn't grab me at first though so it took me much longer to read. The story was wonderful and once I was hooked, it was well worth it. "
