Find Me is the story that no reader will easily forget. It is one of those rare programmes that begins with a specific experience and leads to a journey that is at once a personal exploration of the sometimes painful, sometimes life-affirming events in Rosie O’Donnell’s life and a universal story of the search for identity and survival. Rosie describes it this way: “This a true story about a girl named Stacie who called the adoption agency where I work with a terrible problem. A lot of it won’t make sense, at least logically. But sometimes sense runs deeper than logic. Nothing happens by chance. The events that follow, some dark, some painful, changed me absolutely. You have been warned.”

" I don't like reading books that remind me that there is horrible child abuse in the world. I thought the book was well written for a YA book but I thought the themes were pretty strong. It's an interesting premise and I see why she went where she went it's just sad...very easy read only took me a couple of hours over the course of a few days, but it is sad regardless of her resilience, I didn't like how the parents let the other daughter treat Carey, I thought that was a little unbelievable. "

" This book is written so well!!! It is heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once! I truly started to appreciate the things I have unlike the two main characters that had to grow up in a most awful environment by a selfish and broken mother. I felt like I knew Carey by the end, and Nessa I couldn't help but love, as everyone else does. Great book! "

" Heartrending, compelling.. Just damn good story of redemption. Two young girls grow up in the woods, living in a camper, eating beans. One of them has never been in a house. Then they are rescued... "

" This book was so good. Raw, gritty, real. Hard to read sometimes, but impossible to put down. I loved the narrative voice and I loved the relationship between Carey and Janessa. I highly recommend this book - it was just.........good. "

" A young girl is reunited with her father after being kidnapped by her mother ten years before. She must adjust to a normal life after enduring her drug addict mother's neglect. This book offers a harsh look at the devastation that can be caused to a family from substance abuse and mental illness. "

" The whole time I was reading this, my heart kept breaking more and more for Rosie. The tone, to me, was almost a desperate cry for someone, anyone, to actually come find her and help her find what she is looking for. It felt like a message in a bottle. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Cindy | 2/24/2011

" Very interesting memoir of this comedian's relationship with a young pregnant girl who needs help. She ends up being a middle aged woman with multiple personality disorder and Rosie continues their mostly long distant (Phone, then e-mail) relationship regardless of the truth. Most interesting. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Linda | 9/15/2010

" I don't know about this one - way out there she is. Seemed like an awful lot of bouncing around trying to find herself. I agree with her friends who say she is over the line, unqualified, etc. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Gina | 8/18/2010

" It was heartwarming & interesting, quick, to the point and direct, much like its author. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Michelle | 7/24/2010

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Mona | 4/5/2010

" The story is very weird, but the book is compelling because it's a fascinating look inside Rosie's world...and her psyche. Unfortunately, this book is eight years old, and talks about events more than a decade old...so many things have happened to her since! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Angela | 3/3/2010

" Half way through this book I realized I had already read it a few years ago. Still an interesting look at DID. "

  • 1 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 51 out of 5 Jen | 11/4/2009

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Lisa | 8/17/2009

" Quick, easy read. Like listening to the crazy stories from your always-in-a-crisis friend. Clearly it would be fun but exhausting to know her. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 DeRonda | 8/14/2009

" A desperate, borderline 'obsessive' need to help a stranger in crisis, who betrays and emotionally batters the author...and very likely put up borders around herself from then on...very honest. "
