"This book is written so well!!! It is heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once! I truly started to appreciate the things I have unlike the two main characters that had to grow up in a most awful environment by a selfish and broken mother. I felt like I knew Carey by the end, and Nessa I couldn't help but love, as everyone else does. Great book!"

" I don't like reading books that remind me that there is horrible child abuse in the world. I thought the book was well written for a YA book but I thought the themes were pretty strong. It's an interesting premise and I see why she went where she went it's just sad...very easy read only took me a couple of hours over the course of a few days, but it is sad regardless of her resilience, I didn't like how the parents let the other daughter treat Carey, I thought that was a little unbelievable. " Heartrending, compelling.. Just damn good story of redemption. Two young girls grow up in the woods, living in a camper, eating beans. One of them has never been in a house. Then they are rescued... "

" A young girl is reunited with her father after being kidnapped by her mother ten years before. She must adjust to a normal life after enduring her drug addict mother's neglect. This book offers a harsh look at the devastation that can be caused to a family from substance abuse and mental illness. "

" The whole time I was reading this, my heart kept breaking more and more for Rosie. The tone, to me, was almost a desperate cry for someone, anyone, to actually come find her and help her find what she is looking for. It felt like a message in a bottle. "

" Very interesting memoir of this comedian's relationship with a young pregnant girl who needs help. She ends up being a middle aged woman with multiple personality disorder and Rosie continues their mostly long distant (Phone, then e-mail) relationship regardless of the truth. Most interesting. "

" The story is very weird, but the book is compelling because it's a fascinating look inside Rosie's world...and her psyche. Unfortunately, this book is eight years old, and talks about events more than a decade old...so many things have happened to her since! "
